Why do our food choices matter?

Sadly, our food production system is the largest source of animal cruelty today. Many people haven't stopped to think much about this, because the system (and marketing) is designed to keep them in the dark.  On behalf of the animals we fight for (including our resident farmed animals) we hope you will take some time to learn about the realities faced by animals labeled as "food" by our society today.

Below are some stories that highlight the connection between Pasado’s Safe Haven’s rescued animals and our food production system:

Penny’s piglets explain why we choose meat free

Journey the cow explains why we choose dairy free

Kyndal and Harvee hens explain why we choose egg free

Again, I know that everyone is exploring this information from a different place. And I really want to emphasize that leaning into plant-based eating and veganism is not about perfection (none of us is perfect!). It is simply about making choices that help reduce suffering. So, start where you are.  Try some new recipes.  Sign up for a cooking class. Email me some questions. And of course come visit the animals who inspire all of us to be the best humans we can be.
