VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME!
- Take Humane Educator training via videos! Click Here
- Sew reusable masks for staff and volunteers!! Click here for instructions
- Send Jen any vegan recipes you want to share! She has plans for them....
- From Nicole: Write bios for adoptable animals -- make them fun, upbeat and don’t focus on any negative aspects of the animals. For length, 4-8 sentences is usually good. It can vary if the animal has a special story or fun quirk. Adopters seem to like when we use direct quotes within the bios. Violet, for example, has a quote at the end of her bio from one of the Caregivers about why they enjoy being around her. Email bios to Jen. Needed:
From Nicole: If a volunteer doesn't want to write a full bio, they can also just provide a fun quote from themselves, that I can then incorporate into a full bio. Email quotes to Jen.
- HUMANE EDUCATORS - from Brenna: I'd love to have a few Humane Educators, who feel comfortable, to video themselves reading a short animal/kindness related storybook. I'm working on creating an example now. We are calling it Pasado's Safe Haven's Sanctuary Storytime and all they would need to do is say 'Welcome to PSH's Sanctuary Storytime, what book they are reading, why they like the book, and then read the story and share the video.” HUMANE EDUCATORS - email Brenna if you want to participate
- Send Jen your motivations for volunteering! We'll use these quotes in advertising our volunteer program, etc. Pictures are welcome and a bonus!
- Join our Facebook group for volunteers and share all those wonderful pics you've been taking! Facebook group
- Make some DIY toys for the animals at the sanctuary, for your neighbors, for the pet food banks, and for yourself! Examples:
