Hello My Friends,

It has been very eventful around here weather wise this past week. The wind is doing a number at bringing some old dead trees down. When its really windy please be careful when walking out here, especially you dog people. There is a lot of deadfall in the forest just waiting to come down. We have been trying to identify the most hazardous spots but there are many. If you see a tree or limb that looks hazardous, please let us know.

I have a couple reminders for the enrichment folk and a small update on Freddy, and unfortunately a rainbow bridge crossing.

First off Freddy is here and currently living in the healing barn. He has put on a few pounds since he was here last but otherwise, I'm told he is the same old Freddy. Contact for now is Healing Barn staff only, that will change once he moves up to Dog Town. We ask that those of you that were close and chomping at the bit to see him again, be patient please. He needs time to adjust, and we want to let him do so slowly. The HB crew is taking great care of him and as soon as our Dr decides he can move up he will. One of the Staff down there was a dog caregiver with Freddy, he remembered her almost immediately and has bonded with her again, so he does have a familiar face.

Enrichment Vols, I know we keep running out of Chicken scratch, cheerios, peanuts, etc. We rely on our amazon wish list mainly for resupply, we stopped buying them some time ago. If chicken scratch is on the calendar or one of the others and were out it, it's ok to switch to something else. Mealworms or corn for the chickens, popcorn for the pigs, or a different activity altogether. We want you to try and stick to the calendar the best you can but if an activity doesn't work for you or we're out of the product, go ahead and change it. I ask that if you do switch note it in the log what you did and why.

And sadly I'm sorry to report, Titan, one of our long time roosters, passed away Thursday. His health had been declining over the last couple weeks, and he passed on his own overnight. Titan came to us almost 8 years ago from a large cruelty case. He was bonded with Blossom who definitely misses her friend. Rest in piece Titan, you will be missed.

That's the end of my updates. I hope everyone has a safe Halloween night. I would say dry but if the weather report is right that's not going to happen unless you stay in your house. Its going to rain pretty hard the next couple days so if your coming out expect the conditions to be challenging. For all of you that brave this weather and continually come out and spread the love to our residence, I honestly can't thank you enough. Your amazing, loving, compassionate beings and we all are so honored to have you as part of this family.

Have a great weekend and week ahead!

Stay Awesome!
