Hello My Friends,

I hope the holidays are going well for everyone. It's been a busy week here with animals coming and going and coming back. Let's just jump in because I have some ground to cover.

  • Biggest news of the week, Ricardo sheep and Dawn, Rupert, & Maggie ducks got adopted yesterday. There was no heads up to give as Jen and I had no idea until they were heading out the gate. Its unfortunate that Ricardo wasn't here long enough for you all to get to know him. The really cool thing about the adopter is it's the same family that adopted Hobart and Jamison a year and a half ago. We wish them all well on the next phase of their journey.

  • On the flip side of that news, we have a friend that has been returned to us.  Izzy dog who was adopted last Wednesday was returned to us Monday. She didn't do anything wrong to warrant this, the adopter just felt she wasn't a good fit. It's unfortunate because she is such a loving dog. She went right back up to dog town and has settled back in. Dog volunteers make sure you show her the love as I'm sure you will.

  • Let's stay up in Dog Town for a moment longer. A new resident has made her way up. She is a very sweet dog but unfortunately I can't say any more about her. She is considered live evidence in an active cruelty case so no photo's/video's and no sharing of information regarding her publicly. Dog Volunteers your going to love her, hopefully she will be released to us soon. Check in with the caregiver on duty for more details.

  • Ok I was moving on but a bit of great news literally just came across my desk. My favorite old man Brew dog just got adopted. It's so amazing when adopters take senior animals and give them a home for the time they have left. There's not much that warms my heart more. We wish you well Brew.

  • As I said at the beginning we have had a lot of movement here this week. The biggest happened last night with the rescue of 35 cats. All are in the healing barn at this time. Our I&R team brought them in late last night. All of these kitties are live evidence as well. Obviously, no plans yet on moving to KC, I will let you know when that happens.

  • Last update is for the enrichment folk; we have a bunch of pumpkins still with rumors of a lot more coming. Go into the old barn the first stall on your right, use as much as you would like. Cows, and pigs love them, seeds and all. I had a small piece that Ace Llama gobbled out of my hand so I think Llamas like them too. Just remember to cut them up small if giving to them, and in moderation.

Ok that's it I think, feel like I'm forgetting something. Anyway, I hope you all have a safe and wonderful thanksgiving however you chose to celebrate. Know that the sanctuary is still up and running but the office staff won't be here Thursday and Friday. The Caregivers will be on minimal staff and could really use your help if you have the ability and time.

Have a great weekend everybody.

Stay Amazing!
