Hello my Friends,
I hope you all are well and weathering this amazing weather. From snow and rain to rain and flooding, it's been an interesting couple weeks. It's very sloppy here so if you're coming out make sure you have the right clothing. Of course, as I write this, I'm scanning the weather report, and it looks like this weekend is going to be nice. Hopefully it will give all the flooded areas time to drain. For those that walk the Fern Gully trail, the section against Peppermints yard where it drops down next to the Pasado's chainsaw engraving is flooded. I'm going to try and work on draining it today so hopefully it will be better by this weekend. Also, the last section in front of Nanni's yard is a swamp. I don't think I'll get to that today but will try and fix it before the next heavy rain. All the ground here is mushy, and I really hope the weather report is true and we get the break to dry out before the next system comes in.
I have a couple updates so enough rambling about the weather, let's get this going.
- A ring was found on the property, and it doesn't belong to anyone on staff that we know of. If you're missing a ring contact Jen and she will take care of you.
- I didn't write an update last week, so this is old news but for the dog walkers the photo restrictions on Doug, Russell, & Kevin (Brownie, Buddy, & Blaze) have been lifted. They are no longer part of a cruelty case, so take pictures, share on social media, go nuts.
- Healing Barn update. We got 4 new dogs into the healing barn Thursday. They are not part of a cruelty case but are very timid. They are still being evaluated so as of right now I have no word yet on their possible length of stay in the HB. 6 cats moved from the healing barn to Kitty City on Monday and should be free for all to socialize by this weekend.
- Ok so the big update I know a lot of you are waiting for and that is, how is Burrito. What I can say right now is he is back in his stall. He was taken down to OSU yesterday morning. We thought he would spend the night, but they were able to get him in faster than we had thought. It was nice they were able to get him in so quick but made for a long day for him. The results of the CT scan might take a day or so to be released. Understand that we will have to go over the results of the test and next steps with our vet before anything is made public.....................Ok as I am writing this the update just came in............I am very sorry to have to tell you all this but it appears that our fuzzy eared little buddy has an aggressive form of cancer that is in his spine and legs. Treatment options are very limited and the cancer will likely continue to spread and get worse so the recommendation is to help him pass peacefully and comfortably. With that being said.................we will say goodbye to Burrito next week on Thursday the 26th. Please come and show him some love this next week. Its ok to bring him treats, play games, just hang out if that's what your comfortable with. Understand that on the 26th his care team will be saying their goodbyes and access will be restricted so please, if you are able to come say goodbye, do it before Thursday. I'm so sorry for those of you that are close to him, but also very thankful we have a chance to see him one last time.
I don't think I had any further updates, I honestly can't remember now. I hope you all have a great weekend and week ahead. The weather is supposed to be really nice so get out and enjoy it while its here. I'm going to go hug a pig.
Stay Amazing!
