Hello my Friends,

As we close out March and hopefully start moving into spring and dryer, sunnier weather I want to deeply thank all of you for braving the elements this past winter. Showing up, working the farm, walking dogs, or getting abused by me on projects, in the snow, rain, & wind, and all three at the same time. I haven't been here too long, but it seems like this year we had so much more volunteer support than last year. There were very very few days with no one on the schedule. It's amazing and a testament to your love and devotion to the critters that call this place home. Seriously your support means everything to use so thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!!!

-  As you all know our beloved Burrito crossed over yesterday. It was very peaceful and loving and he was surrounded by his care team that loves him so very much. So many beautiful things have been said about him, but none more so than what was written by Brandie, our Pig & Birds lead caregiver.

"Today we said goodbye to our sweet Burrito boy. What a special pig he was! Burrito came to Pasado's about two years ago from a domestic violence case. He came with his lady Pinky, and their 7 babies. From the jump, Burrito was a big character. He had so much personality. He was always the first one to interact with people or groups, he'd let kids pet him for hours, he absolutely loved getting to hang out with his humans. He was so loving and patient, and also goofy and chatty and brave. He is forever the reigning champion of our pig races  He was papa Burrito, head of the herd. He connected with so many people and affected so many hearts. So many people have told me connecting with and getting to know Burrito was the catalyst and inspiration they needed to stop eating animals. I'm so glad and grateful we all had the chance to know and care for this special boy. Big thank you to everyone who loved and spoiled him this week  Rest in peace Burrito."

I don't think anyone that ever meet him didn't love him. We all have our special memories, and I am thankful for the time I had. One of the things I am so grateful for was the time we had to say goodbye. It warmed my heart to see the love you showed in this final week, so very grateful for that.

-  Unfortunately, his was not the only passing this past week. Right after I posted the blog the word came down that Nancy Drew chicken passed away. She was our last naked neck chicken and its very sad that I won't see her running around anymore. I'm sorry I didn't get this out Friday but was a bit wore out after the news of Burrito.

-  Congratulations to Charlie dog and finally after 575days Zucchini cat found his forever home. Its such a joy when one of our cats or dogs that have been here that long get adopted. They deserve it and am very happy for the both of them.

-  The walking trails have all dried out and are passible again. The area at the main gate to Nanni & Noodles yard is still rough, its not underwater but is squishy. I will hopefully be able to fix that before another rainstorm hits. I should have posted on our new whiteboard the flooding we had but its new and I'm really not. I will try and keep that up to date with closure or problem areas if any pop up again.

Ok that's all for the updates, I think that's enough anyway.  It's a beautifully sunny day today and a think tomorrow will be as well. Hopefully whatever your plans are involve fresh air, sun, and preferably, some amazing animals. Have a great weekend and week ahead.

Stay Amazing!
