Hi, all! Shane is out this week, so you are hearing from yours truly! (Psst. It's me. Jen.)
Biggest news! They have started the culvert/road expansion project at the bottom of the driveway, over the creek. Don't be surprised if you are driving on a temporary bridge very soon. There is also a LOT of HUGE equipment in that area so please use caution. It's going to be great when it's done. We just have to get through the pain of the construction for a month or two.
20 new cats were brought to the sanctuary this week. They are in the Healing Barn. They were from a very large hoarding case. Hope they get healthy and get up to Kitty City soon! If you are a Healing Barn volunteer OR have experience socializing cats in the Healing Barn, talk to me or Shane about going down to the HB to sit with these cats. You will be required to wear full PPE (suit, booties, gloves) though so keep that in mind.
New dog up in Dog Towne - Brew! You may hear him singing the song of his people when you are out here. He's a happy, older guy and is really talkative.
No big farm updates for once. The Great Chicken Move has started! 13 chickens were moved to the Old Barn chicken satellite on Thursday. The girls who will be moving in with Shirley are going through an isolation period for a bit to make sure they are perfectly healthy for him.
I know you all have seen a lot of new faces amongst the Caregivers. I am trying to work on putting together Get to Know Your Team for them, but with all the Compassion Days and large events lately and in the near future, time has not been plentiful. Rest assured that I have not forgotten and will devote some time to this as soon as I can.
Many, many thanks to Isaac and Megan for helping with 3 days of camp this week!
