Hello My Friends,

I'm back and giving this blog thing a try. If you're reading this for the first time, welcome. This has been a weekly email update to the Enrichment and Farm Volunteers. Recent request from our new volunteer board prompted this change, so now everyone can get the update should they want it. Hopefully the link worked correctly for everyone. If it didn't and you had to cut and paste again could you please let Jen or myself know.

As is obvious, I'm back from my vacation, which was a moving vacation so nothing glamorous. I heard it was pretty quiet while I was gone, which is nice, but where is the fun in that. I have a couple good updates to start this back off on a positive note.

·        Great great news to give to start this off. The Old Barn sheep and goats have officially been cleared medically, no Johne's. What that means for everyone, other than no more scrubbing your shoes, is that all the yards are open including being able to take the short cut again. Monday we will be moving most of the group to NARN. The barn will be full, which means more work for the ruminant volunteers but the new energy and life that's coming will make it more than worth it. With them all being medically cleared it also opens up the possibility of adoptions, at least for the babies. The adults are still part of an active cruelty case so I'm not sure if they're eligible yet. So, what I'm saying is get your baby fix in while they are still here........and still sorta babies.........they grow up so fast.

·        Second major update which relates to the first, Coco & Latte, have been adopted. They actually got picked up today and are at their new home. I wish them well and I'm sorry there was no notice about it. I don't have any knowledge of the adopters other than they are good people and our friends should be well taken care of.

·        Last little update is about our big boy Otis. The Vet came out yesterday and the good news is the hoof rot isn't as bad as we thought. The bad news is, it's not hoof rot that's causing his pain but arthritis, and it's pretty bad. We will hopefully be moving him soon to a yard that's a little more comfortable and of course upping his meds to hopefully relieve the pain. I will keep you updated with any new information.

Ok that's it, I hope everyone has had a great start to the summer. I'm enjoying this little bit of rain because I know the heat is coming. With the summer I know that our volunteer schedule fills up very quickly and it can be hard to find a slot. If that is the case email Jen, she will work with you and try to get you on the board.

Enjoy your weekend and coming week. You never want a vacation to end but coming back here and working with all of you again makes the adjustment a touch easier. Thank you for all you do, and I hope to see you all out here soon.

Stay Amazing,
