The next calendar cutoff deadline is this Tuesday, February 17th-any bills that have not been passed out of their chamber of origin will drop dead on Tuesday. We have been lobbying hard all week for the bills listed below, and two of five are now safe from the deadline. We are continuing to press for the remaining bills to move forward, but time is short and the competition to get bills on the House floor vote schedule is fierce. Week 5 Highlights and New Action Alerts:
HB 1078 - restricting pet insurance cancellations and nonrenewals.
- Week 5 recap: This bill was pulled from the Rules Committee and passed by the House with a unanimous vote on Tuesday. It has moved on to the Senate and is now scheduled for a hearing in the Senate Business, Trade & Economic Development Committee on Feb. 18th at 8:00 am.
- NEW ACTION: Complete our new Action Alert to sign in "Pro" on the record by 7:00 am on Feb. 18th.
HB 2247 - expanding vet telehealth access:
- Week 5 recap: This bill was pulled from the Rules Committee and was passed by the House with a unanimous vote on Wednesday. It now moves on to the Senate. Stay tuned for a new Action Alert once this bill is scheduled for its Senate committee hearing.
HB 1904 - banning cat declawing:

HB 1608 - farmed octopus sales ban:
