Update from the Sanctuary
I'm working to bring back the weekly blog, and I'm saddened to begin with difficult news: we lost Ace Llama on Wednesday night. His passing was sudden, and all of us are still processing the shock of it.
Ace's Journey
Ace came to Pasado's two years ago with three other llamas from a severe neglect case. During his time here, he made remarkable progress-going from deeply mistrusting people to calmly taking treats from a hand. One of the things I loved most was how he would walk right up to you and get in your face to see what's what. Our care team and incredible enrichment volunteers deserve so much credit for helping him make that transformation.
As you might expect, the care team is taking this loss very hard. If you have questions, please direct them to Jen or me while we give the team space to grieve and process. Your patience and support mean a great deal, this work can be incredibly difficult, especially in moments like this.
I'm so very sorry to all those that had a special bond with him. Ace was a special soul, and I will miss him deeply.
