Hello my Friends,
How are you all? Life is good here we said good bye to a couple of friends (in a good way) and hello to a bunch more. The weather has been pretty decent minus yesterday and today.....and maybe tomorrow. The rain isn't an unwelcome sight as it helps keep the dust down, but it would be nice if when it rains the temp wouldn't drop into the 50's. Anyway that's all minor griping, its amazing here regardless of a little rain. I don't have a ton of things for you just a couple things to pass on so without further ado.
If you haven't heard by now the big news of the week and month so far is Elvis & Lisa Marie got adopted on Wednesday. They went home with a really nice couple who were looking for a companion for their pig at home. Very excited for them both, it's not every day we have pig adoptions. This was my first time loading a pig into a dog crate. Elvis, like a man was easily lured in with food. Lisa on the other hand was having none of that, she saw right through the food bribery. Was a fierce battle of wills between Lisa and Brandie but in the end, she walked into the crate, of course letting us know her displeasure the whole time. We carried them both to the really nice and clean SUV for the cozy 2hr car ride to their new home. Stressed out pigs that were just fed a frosting slurry embarking on a 2 hour car ride............think on that a minute.
With those two going home that opened up the side yard for our 22 sheep to move over from Reiner. And yes, you heard correctly we have 22 sheep living in that small barn now. NARN folk I'm fairly certain that won't be a spot clean. I went over and tried to see them yesterday, but their shy sheep and I could only get so close. I didn't want to stress them out so wasn't going to push it.
We have some minor construction going on in places. The Facilities building, Healing Barn and Pig 3 are all getting new cement slabs. The holes have been dug for the concrete to be poured so watch your step around them. It should only be the facilities building that will impact you. After the slab goes in a new covered tool storage area will be built. For now, all the tools that were there are laying against the adjacent fence line.
Ok everyone, I think that's it, short and sweet. Hopefully your all doing great and finding some time to make it out here. The weather isn't perfect but its also not that bad and little by little it is getting better. Summer is almost here and If your one of the lucky ones getting a summer break, come on out for a shift during the week, it's a whole different experience, especially on projects.
Take care and have a great weekend and week ahead.
Stay Amazing!
