Hello My Friends,

Hope you all are well and enjoying this lovely summer weather. This brings back memories of the old days of my youth when summer meant longer days, no school and warmer rain than winter. The 4th is upon us, and I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about fireworks. I'm not here to push one agenda over another just be safe if you're into big booms and understand that our furry friends don't usually find the same enjoyment in it. This day can be quite terrifying for them. Full disclosure, this used to be my favorite holiday I loved big booms, I cannot lie. My dogs were never really reactive to fireworks it didn't bother them. However, once I realized the stress it put my neighbors animals in, I rethought it all and let it go. I couldn't enjoy something that caused so much fear in another being. When I was young I never really thought outside my own walls.........all part of growing right. Anyway, sorry if that was a bit pushy, I'm just telling stories here :).

We're not starting July on the right foot as we have a returning friend up in Dog Town today. Blue is back and like the last couple of returning alumni, is a little chunky. He's not back for any reason other than his human had to relocate to a smaller place and it wasn't good for him. But don't fear he won't be around long there is already a line of people interested in adopting. I literally just ran into him out on a walk, and I think he's perfect regardless what the vet says. He's not Big Mack fat, he's just a little softer than he was when he left, perfect for cuddling. Seriously what a beautiful, sweet dog.............it boggles the mind.

I don't have a status yet on Doll, Amy and/or Donna's adoption. Its still a go but we don't have a date yet. Same old story I'll let you all know as soon as I do.

NARN is still brutal to clean if y our wondering.

The pigs continue to keep losing their hair. If you have any free time at the end of your shift, please feel free to grab a brush and help them get naked. Brushes are located in a container outside of each yard as is a bottle of rescue to spray the brush off with when your done. The pigs will absolutely love you for the help.

The puppies are still in the healing barn. Hopefully they will move up to Dog Town soon.

I think that's about it, I'm trying to come up with something to tell you but its been a really quiet week here. So i'll just say Thank you, we are all so very grateful for your dedication to the residence here. You make all our lives better by being part of this family. Have a great safe and quiet 4th of July and an amazing weekend. I hope to see you all out here soon.

Stay Awesome!
